Came across the most amazing estate sale this morning. I didn’t find anything for The Vintage Table Co. this time, but I did pick up a few things for myself…
Note: I think I was a ’60s housewife in a past life.

{ how fabulous is this dressing gown? } { this vintage lariat necklace is to die for }

{ SO happy polka dots are back in style } { just a little something to lounge around in }

{ now I just need some white gloves } { ditching my pink overnight bag for this baby }
You just can’t find stuff like this any more!!!
Didn’t find much in terms of inventory for TVTCo., but I did find these treasures for the house…

{ an old brass key }

{ a teapot missing its lid — can use as a great flower vessel }

{ vintage wooden spools of colorful thread }

{ some old books }

{ vintage coasters }

I find it funny that I can pop awake at 7:30 AM (with no alarm clock) for estate sales, but not for my day job. *sigh* Someday shopping at estate sales WILL be my day job.
The best part of having a three day weekend? An extra day to go hunting for vintage treasures! Over the past three days, I hit up a total of 5 thrift stores, 11 yard sales and 2 estate sales… whew! Here’s a quick recap of my favorite finds…
.

Vintage creamer (from the American Way thrift store in Burbank)
.
I mean — come on — isn’t this the reason why we put cream in our coffee (or tea)?!?
.

Mismatched flatware (from various yard sales in Santa Monica)
.
At least two yard sales let me get away with paying $1 for a handful of mismatched flatware. I almost feel bad for paying that little! Almost.
.

Peacock plate (estate sale in Santa Monica)
.
I always feel weird at the estate sales where people just open up their homes and you have to go digging through their china cabinets and drawers. It feels so intrusive… but when I came across this plate perched atop an 8 foot shelf at Saturday’s estate sale, I was not afraid to hop on a chair and take it down!
.

Tea cup and saucer (yard sale in Santa Monica)
.
And finally— my lesson from the weekend: don’t ever lose hope at a lame yard sale. I asked the sellers if they had any china … and I’m so glad I did. The woman took me back into the kitchen and pulled out a ton of gorgeous tea cups and saucers. This one is by far my favorite.
.
I’d say I did pretty well this weekend, wouldn’t you?
